Suntarbetsliv got an AI assistant and a website that fits together.

The challenge

The website has been around since the early 2010s, and many developers have built different parts on their own. The platform's tools were separate solutions, and new tools were often built from scratch by an outside agency, with hardly any sketches. The offering is broad and was organised around internal terms, so finding the right thing wasn't always easy.

What we did

• The AI assistant Sesam

  We came up with the idea and built Sesam. It reads the whole website and every subdomain, and answers questions with a short summary and links to where you can read more. Visitors and Suntarbetsliv's own staff both use it to find their way around the offering.

• One design system for every tool

  We led the work of bringing the tools, which used to be separate solutions, into one platform with a shared design system and the same way of working.

• Components instead of old code

  Step by step, we're replacing one-off components and old code with a component system used across the whole website. Editors build pages from the same components, and everything we modernise meets WCAG at level AA.

• A new structure for the website

  We're currently rebuilding the website's information architecture, so navigation starts from what visitors are looking for rather than from internal terms.
